Tony Khan Compares Jon Moxley’s Character Arc To Howard Hamlin From ‘Better Call Saul’

Tony Khan compares Jon Moxley to Howard Hamlin.

As most fans of the show know, ‘Better Call Saul’ featured a beautiful redemption arc for the character of Howard Hamlin. As it turns out, Tony Khan believes that Hamlin’s arc is similar to Jon Moxley’s arc that unfolded throughout 2025.

“I think that Jon Moxley made it clear from the beginning he was going to try to lift AEW and he succeeded. What a great way to look back at the year and recontextualize the whole thing. Better Call Saul, I have a reference but I don’t want to spoil it for you here. I’ll just say this, Howard Hamlin. Maybe misunderstood at the beginning and then the more you see, the more you understand about Howard Hamlin.” Khan told Adrian Hernandez of Unlikely in a new interview.

Khan continued on and said that it meant so much to see fans and the locker room embrace Moxley again.

“I would say that people maybe didn’t see what he was trying with his intentions, but everything he said that he would do, he accomplished. Then, at the end of the year, it meant so much to me and so many people in the locker room to see the fans embrace Mox again like that.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Khan revealed a huge stat about AEW Worlds End. Learn more by clicking here.
