Tony Khan Confirms Brody King Was Not Held Off AEW Dynamite By WBD

Brody King was noticeably absent from Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite ahead of his upcoming AEW World Title match.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that Brody not being on the show was “not a Tony Khan call,” implying that WBD made the call so there were no “Fuck ICE” chants, which were present the week prior when Brody faced MJF.

WBD issued a statement denying they had any involvement in Brody not being on the show.

Tony Khan confirmed to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp that WBD had nothing to do with Brody not appearing.

Sapp wrote, “Tony Khan confirmed to me directly that WBD had nothing to do with Brody King being off of Dynamite this week, and noted that he was featured in a video package.

“For those playing semantics about WBD saying they didn’t affect his “upcoming bookings,” sources also clarified they didn’t affect his bookings Wednesday.”

King is scheduled to face MJF for the AEW World Title at Grand Slam Australia on Saturday.
