Tony Khan Names Maya World As Most Underrated Talent In AEW
Tony Khan has high praise for Maya World.
Maya has taken the AEW world by storm in recent weeks, defeating Skye Blue and Athena in the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament to make it to the finals at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
Appearing on Q93, AEW President Tony Khan was asked who the most underrated talent is in AEW.
“Maya World has certainly taken everybody by surprise. She reached the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, where she came in as an alternate and picked up two huge wins. She’s one victory away from reaching the biggest stage in wrestling, getting a world championship match at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium. She has taken so many people by surprise, but I’m not surprised. She’s a great star and has been doing great things. She has had some great upset victories, and it would be the biggest win of her career if she can beat her idol, Mercedes Mone,” he said.
