Tony Khan has high praise for Ricky Starks.
Starks closed out 2022 by winning the AEW World Title Eliminator and the Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royale to earn a match against MJF where the AEW World Title and Dynamite Diamond Ring were on the line at AEW Dynamite Winter Is Coming.
While Starks wasn't victorious in the match, he immediately jumped into a program with Chris Jericho and will clash with "The Ocho" on the January 4 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Speaking to Sports Guys Talk Wrestling, Tony Khan praised the progress of Starks.
"Ricky Starks has come so far in just a few years with AEW. As the company has grown, Ricky Starks has come a really long way since he debuted. He's become a very popular wrestler, he was a real rule breaker when he arrived in AEW, but the fans have really taken to Ricky Starks. He's so charismatic, he's a great wrestler, and the fans really like him. Ricky Starks has a great future in AEW, and what a great match it was at Winter is Coming when he challenged MJF for the World Championship, and I expect a lot of bright things to come for Ricky Starks," he said.
