Tony Khan Says Investigation Into Backstage Altercation At AEW All Out 2022 Is Still Ongoing

Following the conclusion of AEW All Out 2022, CM Punk aired his frustrations with Executive Vice Presidents Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) during the media scrum.

These comments led to an altercation between Punk, Ace Steel, and the Elite where all parties were reportedly suspended for an undisclosed amount of time. Punk vacated the AEW World Title and The Elite vacated the Trios Championships, forcing on-screen plans to change.

An external third-party investigation was reportedly set to be conducted.

Speaking with Variety ahead of Dynamite's third-anniversary show, Khan was asked about the situation but said that he is unable to comment as the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Elsewhere during the interview, Khan spoke about how his confidence grew towards the end of Dynamite's first year and the lessons that he learned.

“That was when I started to say, ‘You know, a lot of these setbacks were very preventable,'” Khan said. “And there were things that I didn’t even want to do in the first place. So I just said going forward that I’m only going to do ideas that I feel good about. … As I gained experience in wrestling, I started to gain more confidence.”
