Tony Khan Says It Would Have Cost 'Millions More' To Produce AEW All In At Craven Cottage

AEW is set to hold its biggest event ever on August 27 as the company heads to Wembley Stadium. Over 80,000 tickets have reportedly already been sold for the event, more than tripling the attendance record previously set at Authur Ashe Stadium for AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam 2021.

When Tony Khan announced AEW would be headed to Wembley Stadium, many fans were surprised that Craven Cottage, the home Fulham FC, was not booked for AEW's first overseas venture. Tony's father Shad Khan owns Fulham FC.

Speaking to Raj Prashad of Uproxx, Tony Khan explained why they picked Wembley Stadium over Craven Cottage.

“There’s two places I thought about,” Khan said. “One is also very dear to my heart, and that’s Craven Cottage. Wembley is, for a pro wrestling event, the more economical choice for many reasons. In that, you can have much more capacity for attendance since Wembley is a larger stadium by far, and also, the same wonderful charms of Craven Cottage and all the history of that magnificent venue. (Craven Cottage) poses so many challenges to loading in a pro wrestling event and it would cost millions more to produce the event at Craven Cottage than at Wembley.”

Khan previously gave insight as to why Craven Cottage wasn't picked. You can find his comments by clicking here.
