Tony Khan Says Not Getting Jay Briscoe On AEW Dynamite Is His Biggest Regret
Tony Khan discusses one of his biggest regrets since founding All Elite Wrestling.
In the six-and-a-half years since AEW’s inception, Tony Khan has had the pleasure of working with numerous wrestlers, including stars of the future and the legends he grew up watching. Still, there are bound to be some regrets along the way.
During an appearance on My Mom’s Basement with Robbie Fox, Tony Khan revealed that his biggest regret, by far, was his inability to get Jay Briscoe on AEW television. Tony Khan purchased ROH in 2022, and Mark and Jay Briscoe, Ring of Honor Hall of Famers, were not allowed to appear on AEW TV. Unfortunately, Jay Briscoe sadly passed away in 2023 before Tony Khan could ever get him to appear on AEW TV.
“I fought really hard to get Jay Briscoe on the show and I fought really hard to have him. There were multiple times when Mark and Jay Briscoe came to Dynamite and didn’t do anything. It was a different time and management. It wasn’t Mr. Zaslav. I could have now literally gone to him. I fought really hard to get Jay Briscoe on the show and I really wish I would have been able to have Jay Briscoe on Dynamite just one time. He came to the show many times. That’s my biggest regret, by far.”
Mark Briscoe has since appeared following the passing of Jay Briscoe. He’s now a staple performer on the show and his headlined AEW TV shows on numerous occasions.
