Tony Khan Thinks Social Media Debates Makes For Healthy Competition

Tony Khan comments on the social media rivalry between AEW and WWE.

AEW and WWE talent and team members are no strangers to taking shots at each other in interviews and social media, and AEW President Tony Khan has gotten involved in the competition with his social media posts.

Appearing on The Rocker Morning Show, Tony was asked if he thought the shots between the two sides were healthy or if they caused more of a divide.

"In the 90's, certainly, I do think a lot of that helped fuel the wresting economy, but it was a very different time and things weren't all online. Everybody wasn't online all the time. It was a very different time for wrestling and a different time to be a sports fan. It's changed for sports. Those rivalries and debates in sports are healthy. I think for wrestling, too, it's a big part, for better or worse of wrestling fandom now. It's definitely a way that people keep up on the shows and watch the shows. For me, I'm a big fan of that. I love promoting the shows online. I know that our wrestlers are really engaged socially. It makes for healthy competition, I think," he said.

Khan is currently unable to travel after being attacked by Jack Perry and The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson) on the April 24 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Fightful will have coverage of AEW Dynamite beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
