Tony Khan: We've Wanted To Work With Kota Ibushi In The Past, It's Something We Would Consider

Kota Ibushi became a free agent on February 1 with his NJPW contract expiring.

Shortly after he hit the free agent market, GCW announced Ibushi would make his return to wrestling at The Collective. Ibushi will face "Speedball" Mike Bailey at Josh Barnett's Bloodsport and compete at Joey Janela's Spring Break.

With Ibushi being clear to sign with any promotion, Tony Khan was asked on Busted Open Radio if he had an interest in the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.

"There are a lot of great free agents in the world of pro wrestling. Certainly, Kota Ibushi is a great talent. When you have a name like that, everyone in the world of pro wrestling would be very fortunate to have in their promotion. We've wanted to work with him in the past, so it's certainly something we would have to consider," he said.

Ibushi recently commented that he doesn't think he'll go to AEW immediately, but would have conversations with AEW at some point. You can find Ibushi's comments by clicking here.

Ibushi has been out of action since October 2021 due to a shoulder injury.
