Tony Khan: We Will Have Michael Oku Back Very Soon In AEW/ROH
Oku is going to be back with the company soon.
In the opening match of Ring of Honor Supercard of Honor 2025, Hechicero clashed with RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion Michael Oku.
Their match went just over 10 minutes, and it was Hechicero emerging victorious. Oku’s name was brought up as AEW President Tony Khan was doing media and speaking with Good Karma Wrestling. He stated that Oku will be back in AEW/ROH ‘very soon’ and proceeded to mention that AEW is heading to London for Forbidden Door in August.
“Michael Oku had a great match in the opener of ROH Supercard of Honor, which was a great event and he had a great match with Hechicero. Michael Oku will be on TV again soon, wrestling Jay Lethal and that’s a match we’ve shot, but haven’t aired yet. We will have Michael Oku back very soon and also, AEW and ROH will be going to the U.K. for the Forbidden Door event, collaborating with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, CMLL, great wrestlers from all over the world coming to the AEW/New Japan Forbidden Door show which will be in London next month.
He was great and Michael Oku has a great future in wrestling, and for fans who aren’t familiar with him, check out the match he had with Will Ospreay in London a few years ago — last year actually. It was a fantastic match. It’s worth watching for sure. Speaking of Will Ospreay, one of the great wrestlers in the world.”
The 2025 Forbidden Door show is taking place on August 24th at The O2 Arena. It’ll be the first time the joint event with New Japan Pro-Wrestling is held outside of North America.
