Tony Khan On WWE's Reported Interest In Collaborating With Others: It Would Depend On The Circumstance

Tony Khan says potentially collaborating with the other top Khan in wrestling is an interesting thought.

Since AEW launched in 2019, the company has built up strong working relationships with NJPW and other companies. In recent months, AEW has started working with CMLL and STARDOM. However, there has been little collaboration between AEW and WWE, aside from a few small examples.

Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated previously reported that, per sources close to WWE President Nick Khan, one of the company's "potential explorations" would be to build a collaboration with other promotions. Barrasso noted that Khan was responsible for giving Triple H the green light to work with TNA to bring Jordynne Grace in for the 2024 Women's Royal Rumble.

Speaking with Liam Crowley of ComicBook.com, AEW President Tony Khan was asked about the report that WWE was open to collaborations. Specifically, Crowley asked him if AEW would be open for business with WWE if the company came calling for a potential collaboration, such as sharing talent or promotion.

"It's an interesting thought. It would depend on the circumstance," Tony Khan said.

AEW stars Bryan Danielson, Chris Jericho, and Paul Wight previously sent in videos for WWE's John Cena anniversary show in June 2022. Before that, AEW's Billy Gunn appeared during the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony in 2019, where D-Generation X was inducted.
