Tony Schiavone Says His AEW Contract Expires In April 2024

Despit his status in the company, he does not have a lifetime deal with AEW.

"That's a fucking lie. Unless my life ends by April of next year," Schiavone said on What Happened When when Conrad Thompson said Schiavone had a lifetime deal with AEW.

Thompson then said Schiavone would be getting a "bumpski" [pay bump] in Apri 2024.

"There is no guarantee that they are going to re-sign me," said Schiavone. "There's no guarantee on that. That's how I approach life. No guarantees. Klondike Bill told me one time, 'The job is a day-to-day thing, Tony.' That's how I approach it. 'The job is a day-to-day thing.'"

Conrad was outraged that Schiavone suggested he wouldn't be signed and guaranteed he would get a pay bump.

Schiavone closed by saying, "I really don't think so but it doesn't matter because I'm living a good life. I don't need the bumpski."

Along with doing commentary for AEW television, Schiavone co-hosts AEW Unrestricted, AEW Control Center episodes, conducts interviews and more on-screen.

Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
