Tony Schiavone Says Mark Henry Segment At AEW Double Or Nothing Was Cut For Time

Mark Henry officially joined All Elite Wrestling at Double or Nothing as he was introduced as the new voice of AEW Rampage by Tony Schiavone.

Henry came out and played to the crowd before walking to the back. It was explained that Henry would make his first comments on the next episode of Dynamite.

According to Tony Schiavone on What Happened When, that was not the original plan.

Tony said he ran into Dave LeGreca and Henry the day before Double or Nothing and thought they were there taping content for Busted Open Radio, which was true, but not the whole story.

"Tony [Khan] told me, 'No, [Mark Henry is] going to be with us, you're going to introduce him' and we had a five-minute interview we were going to do, which had to be cut because the show was running long. [Mark] just walked out, as people saw, and we did our interview on Dynamite. I went to the trailer to talk to Mark and said, 'Tony told me what we're going to say, do you know what we're talking about?' He said, 'I always know what we're talking about.' 'You got it buddy!' When he walked out, he pointed to his watch and was telling me, 'wrap it the fuck up because we're short on time," revealed Schiavone.

Henry made his first comments on Dynamite, but was interrupted by the debuting Andrade El Idolo.

Henry will serve as an announcer on AEW Rampage and work in talent development.
