Tony Schiavone speaks highly of Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland.
On the May 29 episode of AEW Dynamite, Will Ospreay won the Casino Gauntlet Match to crown AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland's challenger at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. Ospreay currently holds the AEW International Championship, so he will attempt to become a double champion.
Speaking on his What Happened When podcast, AEW commentator Tony Schiavone was asked whether he was as excited about the looming match between Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland as many fans seem to be.
“Yeah, I am because Swerve has been such a great champion, and Will Ospreay is one of the most incredible performers. I think I’ve said this before, I don’t know if I’ve seen anyone capture the excitement and imagination of the crowd like Will Ospreay has in such a short period of time. I knew he was great. I didn’t know how great he was. That’s a testament to not only how well he can work, but his interviews have been good, too. They’ve been really authentic, and yeah, he’s gonna be quite a challenge for Swerve," Schiavone said.
