Tre' LaMar Credits Cody Rhodes For Getting Him Booked On AEW

Tre' LaMar has become a staple in the midwest independent scene, largely competing for AIW throughout his career. He's branched out to other companies over the past couple of years, wrestling for GCW, BLP, Prestige, and more.

In July 2021, just before companies hit the road again coming out of the pandemic, Tre' made his debut on AEW Dark, taking on The Blade.

Speaking to Stephen Jensen on The Spotlight, Tre' credited Cody Rhodes for the appearance coming together.

"At the time, it was Cody Rhodes, he gave me the opportunity. He had someone give me his phone number. I texted him and we had a brief conversation. He told me he wanted to bring me on and give me an opportunity. They gave me the dates, and I wrestled The Blade. It was great, I loved it. Blade is such a cool dude. That was the first time I ever officially met him. I was really excited to work with him that day. It was fun," he recalled.

Tre' would returned to AEW for the August 6 episode of AEW Dark, which was taped in front of an audience at Daily's Place, against Lance Archer.
