Trevor Murdoch and Mike Knox share their thoughts following their victory in the NWA Crockett Cup.
Knox and Murdoch defeated Blunt Force Trauma (Damage and Carnage) in the finals of the Crockett Cup tag team tournament at the NWA pay-per-view on June 4. In doing so, they joined the prestigious group of Crockett Cup winners, which includes The Road Warriors (Hawk and Animal) and The Briscoe Brothers (Jay and Mark Briscoe).
In a video the NWA tweeted following the conclusion of the Crockett Cup pay-per-view, Knox and Murdoch commented on their win and discussed their unlikely pairing.
Mike Knox: NWA wrestling world, who would have ever thunk it?
Trevor Murdoch: Wait a minute, we did. We believed in each other. I believed in you.
MK: I knew it was coming sooner or later. I might not have always known it was with you. Maybe not til that second fight.
TM: Well, we did beat the hell out of each other.
MK: We were just sitting there, just trading [mimics sound of blows landing]. I was like, damn, I like this guy. Oh, man, now it’s written in the history books.
TM: In the history books. Nobody can ever take it away from us.
Knox continued by putting the NWA on notice, as he stated that anyone who wanted to come for the tag team titles had to come through them. He and Murdoch agreed that any potential challenger would have to hope the duo let them get out of there.
MK: Never. Hey, NWA, if you want to come for the tag titles, if you want to come for any kind of silver, you are gonna have to look these four eyes straight away and pray that we let you get the hell out of there.
TM: We let you get the hell out of there.
MK: There’s a line coming now, brother.
