For the first time, an active WWE talent is the TNA World Champion.
Headlining NXT's Battleground Premium Live Event was Joe Hendry defending the TNA World Championship against Trick Williams.
Seated ringside for the match was TNA President Carlos Silva.
The backend of the match saw several near falls and then came the point when the belt was brought into the ring by Williams. While the belt was on the ground, Williams hit Hendry with a flapjack and Hendry landed face-first on the belt.
That was followed up by Williams pulling out his 'Trick Shot' finisher to secure the win and the TNA World Championship.
It is the first time an active WWE talent is in possession of a TNA championship. Cameras cut over to Carlos Silva and his facial expression showed that he was not pleased with the result.
Williams now joins Kenny Omega and Christian Cage as the last three non-TNA-contracted talents to hold the belt.
