Trick Williams Challenges Booker T To A Match At WWE SummerSlam 2027, Booker T Responds

Trick Williams wants to face Booker T next year at SummerSlam.

While he doesn’t have a match at this year’s SummerSlam premium live event so far, the WWE United States Champion, Trick Williams, is already thinking far ahead for the future as he recently challenged Booker T to a match.

While speaking with Brad Gilmore in a Hall of Fame podcast exclusive, Trick said the following.

“I would’ve pitched it just like this. I mean, SummerSlam is gone but maybe next year at SummerSlam. Who knows? Maybe it’s for the WWE World Champion[ship]. Who knows? I’mma say Book. In the year 2027, [25] years ago, somebody made history. Two black men main eventing at SummerSlam for the first time ever. Hasn’t been done before. Hasn’t been done since. How’d you like to make yourself a two-time main event of SummerSlam against another black man? Not any black man. That black man that is your polar strength, the one that you hand-sculpted yourself and said, ‘Trick Williams, look, this is how you want to approach the business. This is how you going to make yourself a superstar, Trick.’ Now, how would you, Booker T, like to step into the ring with that Trick Williams, the one who knows he’s a superstar with all the momentum in the world, with all the eyes watching, left, right, kids, grown folk, it don’t matter. Booker T vs. Trick Williams. Main event of SummerSlam for the championship. One more time.”

Booker T responded to Trick’s challenge, saying:

“I hate getting called out man, and not being able to respond properly. But my thing has been, I never say never. I’m never going to close the book on any chapter, anything like that. I feel like if I could will myself to do it, I will do it. If the body’s telling me, ‘Hey, go out here and get this done just one last time,’ I will go out there and get that done. But he gave me a time period, ‘27, and that gives me time to figure out what this year is going to look like for Booker T as far as, can I really get in the gym and hang and bang? I’m talking about hanging and banging hard for just one more time. You know, that’s the question kind of like Conor McGregor. Can I will myself to get in the gym and make it happen? I think I can. So we’ll see how that plays out. I’m serious.”

During a recent interview, Trick said he feels the weight after Triple H praised his work, but he embraces the pressure. Fans can read his full comments here.
