Trick Williams On US Title Open Challenge: I Don’t Know About These Free Matches Every Friday Night
Trick Williams doesn’t sound keen on the idea of continuing the WWE United States Title open challenge.
Trick won the title at WrestleMania 42, defeating Sami Zayn. Zayn, with the blessing of John Cena, brought back the US Open Challenge in 2025, which led to Ilja Dragunov, Carmelo Hayes, and Zayn winning the title in the open challenge format.
Speaking to ESPN after WrestleMania 42, Trick commented on the possibility of continuing the open challenge.
“Trick Williams, I’m a superstar and I wear that very seriously. I don’t know about these free matches every single Friday night. When the people see Trick Williams, it’s going to be in a main event. It’s going to be a show when I defend the title,” he said.
