Trick Williams Says His Theme Was Inspired By ‘Family Ties’ By Baby Keem And Kendrick Lamar

Trick Williams discusses how his theme song came together.

From the first time fans heard the horns on Trick’s theme, “Whoop That Trick” rang out and Booker T started with adlibs.

Speaking to Robbie Fox on My Mom’s Basement, Trick discussed how it came together.

“The original pitch that I gave the music guy was, ‘I love Family Ties by Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem.’ I love the horns at the beginning. I like the horns, the bass, the 808 drums on it. It feels like royalty. Hip hop royalty walking into the room. That’s how I saw myself, just representing the hip hop culture and those horns make you feel like such a big deal. They came back with the theme that I have now. ‘This is perfect.’ Mind you, the theme is an instrumental. I didn’t know people would be chanting. Since day one people have been chanting ‘Whoop That Trick.’ It’s better than I could have imagined it. The theme itself, I loved it right away,” he said.

Trick Williams is looking to smoke on your top five tonight.

Elsewhere during the interview, Trick had jokes regarding Randy Orton. You can find his full comments here.
