Trick Williams Speaks About Carmelo Hayes Losing WWE United States Title: I Would Love To See Him Get His WrestleMania Moment & He Deserves That
Williams would like to see Melo get his moment.
On the March 27th edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Carmelo Hayes’ WWE United States Championship reign came to an end when he lost the belt to Sami Zayn.
The pinfall loss came after Trick Williams attempted to strike Zayn, but Zayn ducked, and he connected with Hayes.
Guest appearing on HOT 97’s Mornings with Mero was Williams, and he spoke about Hayes’ loss and now challenging Zayn for the U.S. Title at WrestleMania 42.
“He’s assuming Carmelo Hayes. My long-time tag team partner. We got a lot of history back in the day but honestly, I’m glad I don’t have to beat down a Black man on a WrestleMania stage. Because I don’t care who’s in front of me, everybody gotta get it,” Williams laughed. “It is what it is but, nah, all jokes aside, me and Melo, we go way back of course and I would love to see him get his moment and he deserves that and you never know, he probably still will. He carried that U.S. Title great so, he deserves his moment. I’m sure he’s going to get his moment…”
Williams versus Zayn for the U.S. Title was made official on the night that Hayes lost the belt.
