Trick Williams: The Original Songwriter Of ‘Whoop That Trick’ Wants To Work With WWE To Get Some Stuff Going

Williams speaks about the originator of Whoop That Trick.

Memphis, Tennessee rapper Al Kapone originally created the ‘Whoop That Trick’ song for the Academy Award-winning movie Hustle & Flow that released in 2005.

The song/chant was picked up by the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies, and present day, the chant has become part of Trick Williams’ entrance in WWE.

Williams appeared on Mornings with Mero on HOT 97, and he shared that Al Kapone wants to get a collaboration with WWE going.

“So it was actually Al Kapone. He was the original songwriter of ‘Whoop That Trick.’ When the crowd started doing that a long time ago, he called me. He found me on Instagram… He loved it. He sent me a whole bunch of merch, boxing gloves, ‘Whoop That Trick’ this and everything. So he wants to work alongside with WWE to get some stuff going.”

Williams is going to be making his WrestleMania debut at WrestleMania 42. He’ll be challenging Sami Zayn for the United States Championship.
