Triple H set for next week's NXT.
WWE announced that Triple H will address the NXT Title situation on next Wednesday's episode of NXT. As previously announced, Tommaso Ciampa underwent Anterior cervical fusion last week and will be unable to compete at TakeOver: New York on Apr. 5. You can view photos from Ciampa's surgery here.
While nothing had been officially announced, all signs pointed to Ciampa defending the NXT Title against Johnny Gargano at TakeOver: New York. The two recently reunited in NXT and on the main roster, competing in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and on Raw and SmackDown against The Revival and The Bar. However, this past Wednesday on NXT, following a loss to Ricochet & Aleister Black, Gargano outsmarted Ciampa and laid him out on the stage.
Ciampa has been NXT Champion since defeating Aleister Black on the July 18, 2018 episode of NXT.
