Triple H Comments On Working Relationship NXT Has With TNA And The Importance Of Young Stars Getting More Reps

Triple H says WWE is open for business for the betterment of today's wrestlers and tomorrow's industry.

Denise Salcedo recently asked Triple H about the working relationship between WWE NXT and TNA Wrestling. During the WWE SummerSlam post-show press conference, Triple H spoke about the importance of younger superstars, getting more reps in the ring and on the microphone, and developing relationships such as the one NXT has developed with TNA.

Triple H also praised the relationships WWE is developing with international partners, which allow them to help not only their future but the future of wrestling as a whole.

"So I think, as we've said before, we're open for business, right? Whether that's what you see in NXT with TNA or whether that's different international opportunities," Triple H began. "We're gonna look at what's best for WWE, but how does that benefit us? How does it benefit them? I think there's opportunities, as you look at NXT, a lot of those, those kids are young. What they really need is repetition. They need opportunities to go do — we can only create so many of them. So when we have opportunities to partner with others, help their business at the same time, get them on a platform that is seen by so many more people, and use the strength and the power of our brand across social media to help them, I think you'll see more of that, right.

"So when we have the opportunity to help them while at the same point in time, getting the future — of not just us, the future of this business, more opportunities and more reps to improve what they do as performers, to improve what they do on every aspect of what they go out and day in and day out," he adds. "The world is different now. There aren't territories where you're out there working a couple of hundred days a year, and I don't know that anybody would want to, but we all did it. It's how everybody got where they got to and how they got good, and how they learned this. So we have to create that. We have to give those opportunities to other people to grow and to have that because the only way they're going to learn how to do this, the only way you learn to go out there and feel that crowd and understand it and change what you're doing and have that dynamic — because you can plan it all you want the back when you get out there, and that's where the magic happens.

Triple H continued by saying that no matter what anyone says, the nuances that talents develop while gaining more experience between the ropes are the true source of the magic that pro wrestling can produce.

"I don't care what anybody says. Those in-the-moment, game-day decisions that are made there live, your nuances, that's what makes this great. So it's reps. It's really reps, especially when you're just starting in the business. I want them to have that. So, when we can create those opportunities, whoever that's with, I'm excited to do it."

WWE is continuing to work with TNA almost weekly. Joe Hendry, a TNA star, will wrestle during the second week of the WWE NXT Great American Bash. Learn more about that match here.

Jade Cargill, still growing as a wrestler despite her regular appearances on Main roster programming in WWE and AEW, recently noted that she wants to wrestle TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace. Read Jade's comments on that matter here.
