Triple H Expresses Excitement For Kevin Owens vs. CM Punk: “That Is Going To Be An Epic Encounter”
An incoming clash between Kevin Owens and CM Punk.
It had been advertised for night two of WWE SummerSlam that Sami Zayn would be facing Finn Bálor to determine the next challenger to the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Friday Night SmackDown General Manager made the bout a Fatal 4-Way and added GUNTHER and the returning Kevin Owens. Owens ended up winning the match by pinning Zayn, and with the victory, he is now set to challenge CM Punk for the title.
WWE Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque appeared on the SummerSlam post-show and expressed his excitement for Owens versus Punk.
“Which now puts him in a driver’s seat, and after last night makes me immediately think about Kevin Owens and CM Punk, and there is a lot of history there. A lot of history that people have seen, and believe me, a lot of history that is behind the scenes. That is going to be an epic encounter that I can’t wait to see.”
Owens and Punk shared the ring on a January 2025 episode of SmackDown and went back and forth on the microphone.
