Triple H: Having Vince McMahon Around Has Been Great, He’s A Tremendous Asset

Triple H comments on Vince McMahon's return.

McMahon retired on July 22, 2022, amid a WWE board investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct and hush money. His daughter, Stephanie McMahon, and Nick Khan were subsequently named the Co-CEOs of the company, and Triple H took over as the head of creative. Triple H's role was later named WWE's Chief Content Officer. On January 5, 2023, Vince McMahon announces his intent to return to WWE and participate in negotiations for media rights deals. WWE confirmed McMahon's return to the Board of Directors on January 6. Stephanie announced her resignation on January 10, and Vince was voted the Executive Chairman of the Board that same day.

During WWE's fourth quarter 2022 earnings call, Triple H emphasized that he is enjoying his role as the company's Chief Content Officer. He brought up Vince McMahon's return and stated that having the Executive Chairman of the Board has been great. Triple H called McMahon a tremendous asset, and he highlighted Vince's incredible insight.

"I want to reiterate just how excited I am and how much fun I am having in my role as Chief Content Officer. I also want to add that having Vince around has been great. I will tell you this, it has allowed me, and allow me to speak for our entire creative team, but we’re standing on the shoulders of giants. So having him back and involved, even at just the board level, comes with his incredible insight, and he is a tremendous asset to this company. This is the best time of the year. We’ve kicked off the road to WrestleMania. It’s an amazing moment for WWE, and I look forward to continuing to build the business alongside this leadership team for the long term," Triple H said.
