WWE released a handful of talent on April 15, including the likes of Samoa Joe, Mickie James, and Billie Kay.
On Thursday, Mickie tweeted a photo of a "care package" being sent to her in a trash bag. Vince McMahon was tagged in the photo.
WWE took action with Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development Triple H announcing that the person who disrespected recently released talent had been fired by the company. The name of the person was not given.
Upon learning of the disrespectful treatment some of our recently released talent received on behalf of the company, we took immediate action. The person responsible for this inconsiderate action has been fired and is no longer with @WWE.— Triple H (@TripleH) April 23, 2021
.@MickieJames I am embarrassed you or anyone else would be treated this way. I apologize personally and on behalf of @WWE. The person responsible is no longer with our company. https://t.co/nvN4WsKC0I— Stephanie McMahon (@StephMcMahon) April 23, 2021
Maria Kanellis noted on Twitter that she got the same "care package" from WWE last year as well.
Mickie recently commented on her release, saying she felt "comfortably uncomfortable" the past two years in WWE. You can find her full comments by clicking here.
