Triple H: Two-Night WrestleMania Was More Enjoyable Than The Eight-Hour Extravaganza

WWE changed WrestleMania to a two-night event this year due to the coronavirus pandemic forcing them to shuffle the schedule. Typically, WrestleMania runs on Sunday and lasts for roughly eight hours with NXT TakeOver or another WWE event taking place on Saturday.

With WWE having to cancel TakeOver and the Hall of Fame this year, the decision was made to break up WrestleMania to two nights. And Triple H wouldn't be opposed to this being a permanent change.

"I think it was much more enjoyable than the eight-hour extravaganza," said Triple H on WWE After the Bell with Corey Graves. "At some point, that's probably what it should be. It's become so big. It started out as a concert that ended up as a festival. It's this week-long festival. That big main stage attraction needs to be those two nights. That's probably a change that, out of chaos comes the genius, and maybe that's the genius of it. People have been saying it for a period of time, but it's a major shift and it doesn't come easy."

NJPW experimented with a two-night Wrestle Kingdom event this year, though it is unknown if that format will return in 2021. WWE has already announced plans for WrestleMania 37, with the event scheduled to be held on Sunday, March 28, 2021 from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

However, those plans could change as the Los Angeles mayor recently said large gatherings may not be approved for at least a year.
