For the second straight year, the Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks will meet in the NBA playoffs. In 2024, the Pacers defeated the Knicks in seven games to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.
This year, the two teams will meet in the Eastern Conference Finals.
The showdown comes nearly one year after Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton and Knicks star Jalen Brunson got into a confrontation on WWE SmackDown.
Appearing on WWE Raw, Haliburton was asked about facing the Knicks once again.
"I knew that we would probably have to see the Knicks again down the line after the series last year. I didn't know when, but I knew it would happen eventually. Here we are. This is a special rivalry that I'm excited to be part of and keep adding chapters to it. I'm looking forward to it.
"Obviously, it's been a special rivalry dating back to the 90s. It's like Rock-Austin almost. Fans love this stuff. I'm excited to be part of it. Last year, I don't think I knew necessarily what I was getting into, I knew it was going to be a competitive series. now, understanding the hatred between the fanbases and how serious of a rivalry this is, it's a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to playing against these guys again. It's going to be a fun series. I'm ready."
Game One is scheduled for Wednesday, May 21st.
