Tyrus: Billy Corgan And Vince McMahon Have Great Creative Minds And Gave Me Control Of My Destiny

Tyrus compares Billy Corgan to Dixie Carter and Vince McMahon.

Tyrus, formerly Brodus Clay in WWE, is currently the NWA World's Heavyweight Champion in the Billy Corgan-led promotion. Along the way, his wrestling journey also took him to TNA Wrestling, where he worked for Dixie Carter.

In a new interview with MuscleManMalcom, Tyrus compared working for Dixie Carter and Vince McMahon to working for the Smashing Pumpkins frontman in the NWA. Tyrus says that while Billy Corgan shares Dixie Carter's care for the product, he resembles Vince McMahon because the buck stops with him. Tyrus also praised Corgan and McMahon for allowing him to take ownership of his ideas and career.

"Dixie and Billy, I would say, were similar to where they generally care about the card. Vince McMahon, he's the boss. Billy Corgan is the boss, and both of them have achieved greatness at high levels. I mean Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins. He's a recording artist phenom. They both have great creative minds, and Billy is always throwing stuff against the wall. The one thing that they both do, in my time with Vince McMahon and my time right now with Billy, is they both say, 'What do you got?' To me, it's one of those things where it's like a noose because if you [fail] 'Well, it was your idea,' so they put it on me. Get over or don't. I like that. I like being in control of my own destiny," said Tyrus.

Tyrus will be in control of his own destiny on February 11 at NWA Nuff Said when he defends his World's Heavyweight Championship against Matt Cardona.

Recently, Tyrus and Cardona agreed to take part in a Six-Man Tag Team bout on a future episode of NWA Powerrr. The tag bout will have repercussions on their upcoming title match with the winner naming the title bout's stipulation. Learn more here.
