UK Independent Promotion Coming To The WWE Network, Agreement To Be Announced Soon

According to PWInsider Elite, sources in the UK independent scene are saying that WWE officials are nearing a finalized deal that will bring UK indie promotion Insane Championship Wrestling to the WWE Network. We don't know yet on if this will be on-demand content or live content or a combination of both.

The agreement with ICW is said to be a multi-year deal, possibly for 2-3 years. The agreement in supposedly already in place and the a formal announcement could come at any time in the next week.

It may be of interest to note that ICW is closer to the original ECW or WWE's Attitude Era, but their content is not expected to be toned down for the WWE Network, except in some circumstances. ICW has been growing in popularity in recent years, having just drawn thousands of fans to a show at the SSE Hydro Arena in Glasgow, Scotland.

Back in 2016, WWE polled subscribers about which indie companies they would like to see on the WWE Network. They are said to be currently in talks with several North American promotions, so it will be interesting to see if any more independent companies make it onto the Network in 2017.
