Update On Referee Dallas Edwards Following Scary Spot At OVW

On March 12 at an Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) event, referee Dallas Edwards was hit with a springboard forearm in a planned spot during a six-man tag match.

Edwards stayed down on the mat as the action continued, but began convulsing. He was pushed out of the way by one wrestler, who went forward with his next move. Eventually, the bout was stopped, the camera focused elsewhere, and the show ended.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp was given the following statement from Edwards’ girlfriend:

“Please keep Dallas in your thoughts as your day begins. I am not going to provide much more information at this time except to the parties who already know, but last night resulted in a brain injury that is being monitored and will continue to be monitored by doctors here.

Seeing all the support you guys have already given is amazing and I didn’t want to leave everyone without some kind of update.”

OVW wrestler Jake Lawless shared a photo of Edwards in the hospital giving a thumbs up.

Ohio Valley Wrestling has not addressed the incident.
