Vanity Project Crowned New NXT Tag Team Champions After Tony D’Angelo Cost DarkState The Titles

DarkState’s past catches up with them.

Starting the in-ring action of the February 24th NXT on The CW was an NXT Tag Team Championship match. DarkState (Osiris Griffin & Saquon Shugars) put their titles on the line against Vanity Project (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes).

The backend of the bout saw Vanity Project member and WWE EVOLVE Men’s Champion Jackson Drake get involved. DarkState’s Cutler James, Dion Lennox, and Osiris Griffin went after Drake and Ricky Smokes on the opposite end of the ring. The referee was focused on that scuffle.

On the other side, near the commentary desk, Tony D’Angelo ran up on Saquon Shugars and chokeslammed him on the ring apron. He rolled Shugars back into the ring and sent Brad Baylor in behind him. Baylor got a cover and won the NXT Tag Team Titles for Vanity Project.

Tony D’Angelo stated that he was coming after DarkState and would not stop until they lost everything as he did.
