Victor Cruz Recalls Getting Tackled By Enzo Amore In A High School Football Game

Victor Cruz is one of the competitors on this season of "Titan Games" and a former Pro Bowl wide receiver and Super Bowl Champion for the New York Giants.

And while those are nice accolades to have, he'll likely never be able to live down the fact that he was once tackled by Enzo Amore.

“I am fully aware of him, yes, absolutely,” Cruz told The Wrap“The one time I got tackled in my life had to be from this guy in high school, and he won’t (let me) live it down.”

In 2011, Enzo uploaded a YouTube video where he shows the footage of him tackling Cruz with the caption claiming he slammed Cruz on his head. That wasn't quite the case, but never let the video get in the way of a good story.

Though Enzo may embellish the force of the tackle, Cruz has plenty of respect for the former WWE superstar.

“He’s hilarious,” Cruz said. “Ever since [I saw] that footage a few years ago, I’ve followed his career. And he’s pretty good. He loves wearing sneakers and kicks and stuff and he’s worn my sneakers a bunch of times while he wrestled, so it’s been pretty cool — but that video’s hysterical. When I saw the clip on YouTube, I was like, when was this? What game was this? I had no recollection. Obviously, in high school, you remember the good stuff. You remember all the touchdowns, all the times that you shook somebody out of their shoes, something like that. You don’t remember getting tackled by this guy for a 2-yard-gain.”

But now, thanks to the power of the internet and Enzo Amore, Cruz will never forget.

Cruz is one of the participants on season two of "Titan Games," which premiered Monday on NBC. The show is produced and hosted by The Rock.
