Vince McMahon Appears On 6/17 WWE SmackDown, Says 'Together' Is Most Important Word In WWE Signature

Vince McMahon kicked off WWE SmackDown.

On Wednesday, the Wall Street Journal published a report saying the WWE board of directors was investigating McMahon regarding a secret $3 million hush pact tied to an alleged affair.

As a result of the investigation, WWE announced today that Vince has voluntarily stepped back from his responsibilities as CEO and Chairman of the Board until the conclusion of the investigation. Stephanie McMahon has been appointed to serve as interim CEO and interim Chairwoman. Vince McMahon, however, will maintain his position related to WWE’s creative content during this period.

Vince came to the ring and said that it was a privilege to stand before the WWE Universe. He added, "I'm here simply to remind you of the four words we just saw in what we call the WWE Signature. Those four words are 'Then, Now, Forever, and the most important word is 'Together.' Welcome to SmackDown!" Vince then threw the microphone and walked to the back.
