Vince McMahon To Keith Lee: 'We're Gonna Go Places, But You've Gotta Make Me Believe In You'

Vince McMahon was impressed with Keith Lee after his Monday Night Raw debut but wants to see more authenticity from the former NXT champion.

Keith Lee debuted on Monday Night Raw following the 2020 WWE SummerSlam on the first Monday Night Raw inside of WWE ThunderDome. His first match on Monday night was against Randy Orton as Keith briefly became an impromptu third wheel in the rivalry between Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre.

When Keith debuted on Monday nights, he was sporting a different look and new music from his time in NXT. The latest WWE 24 documentary special follows Keith Lee on his journey and shows a special moment between Keith and Vince McMahon after Keith’s first match on Monday nights.

“We're going to go places, but you gotta make me believe in you,” Vince McMahon could be seen telling the former NXT Champion. “We've got a whole global audience here now. It's a little bit different. Gotta make some changes and be you.”

Vince continued, "Look what I got here. [expletive.] I've got a hell of an athlete. Hell of a performer. Promos are good…”

In response to this, Keith would say that he could feel Vince McMahon's passion and that he is intent on delivering what Vince McMahon expects out of him.

“Firework. Went from like smiles to like a coach firing you up, that's what it felt like. A football game back when I played D-line. That's what that felt. Vince McMahon is expecting me to dismantle this industry. I'm gonna fucking do it.”

Keith continued, “Taking in Vince's guidance and being myself. I will remain focused and poised to be both basically with everything that I am.”

At WWE Survivor Series, Keith debuted a new entrance song which he sings on. Perhaps bringing himself one step closer to that authenticity that Vince McMahon is searching for.
