Tommaso Ciampa was moved from NXT to WWE Raw following WrestleMania 38 and NXT Stand & Deliver. He had made previous appearances on WWE Raw, but the post-Mania move has served as a permanent transition for Ciampa.
Ciampa has wrestled in trunks throughout his NXT career, but began wearing long pants while doing matches on Main Event and early in his Raw run.
Speaking at San Diego Comic Con, where two versions, long pants and tights, of his action figure were revealed, Ciampa commented on why the change was made.
"Lots of stuff happened when I made the jump from NXT. One thing, for me, was switching appearances slightly. I had a discussion with a very higher-up person in our company. I had a tank top and I was supposed to go out for a match on Main Event. I had these shorts on. He said [Vince McMahon impression], 'Woah, look at those shoulders. Broad shoulders. Legs are a little slender.' I really calmy said, 'I didn't want to try the long tights.' I advocated a couple of weeks back and that was my main roster debut gear. Since then, I've had trunks" said Ciampa.
Ciampa has been aligned with The Miz on WWE Raw. He most recently wrestled on the July 11 episode of WWE Raw, teaming with The Miz against AJ Styles & Ezekiel.
