Volador Jr is the brand new CMLL World Historic Middleweight Champion after defeating Flip Gordon on July 3rd.

Volador Jr is the brand new CMLL World Historic Middleweight Champion after defeating Flip Gordon on July 3rd.
The CMLL World Historic Middleweight Championship was debuted in 2010 and so far has had ten different championship reigns, with Flip Gordon being the most recent champion heading into the companies Viernes Espectacular event on July 3rd.
At the event, Volador Jr would defeat and dethrone Flip Gordan, bringing his championship reign to a close after almost 600 days. The finish of the bout would include a second rope springboard Canadian Destroyer to end the bout and crown a new champion.

Over the course of his nearly six hundred day reign, Flip would successfully defend the championship four times after originally winning the title by defeating Villano III Jr on November 15th, 2024. He had previously defended the title against Volador Jr on two more occasions.
