Wade Barrett Praises Neville As An In-Ring Performer, Speaks On Drew McIntyre's Success And Discusses WWE Misusing Talent

The "British Bullhammer" sounds off on a few topics concerning the WWE.

Former 5-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, Stu Bennett, better known to some as former WWE star, Wade Barrett, recently spoke with SPORTBible. During the interview, Barrett would discuss WWE's misuse of their could-be, top tier talent, the success of former NXT Champion Drew McIntyre. As well as praising the longest reigning and former WWE Cruiserweight Champion, Neville, who has not been seen on WWE TV since his reported walking out of the company in October. To add, there have been reports that the company is making the "King Of The Cruiserweights" wait out his contract until it expires.

Bennett, who is the current on-screen GM of Defiant Wrestling, would discuss the in-ring work of his fellow Brit, Neville.

"Neville for sure is in my top three opponents of all-time. When I saw my name against him, it was almost like I knew I could go asleep during that match because everything he does is amazing." Bennett added, "I think a lot of people look at Neville think: 'Oh, he's that high-flying guy who does all the flips', but literally everything he does, from even the most basic stuff, locking up, tying up, the way he moves around the ring; the way he reacts to anything I do to him and sells my stuff is always incredible so he's one of the best in-ring guys ever."

To some fans, Wade Barrett had been misused throughout his WWE career and had all the potential to become WWE Champion. Due to a string of poorly-timed injuries, Barrett never got his primetime spot. SPORTBible would ask Barrett if he feels that WWE misuses their talent and here's what he stated:

"They misuse a lot of guys. There's a lot of guys you could do more with but at the end of the day, they pick the guys they want to go with and go with them." He added. "I don't think they purposely sabotage, I think there are limited spots to be at the top of the card or the highlighted guys; there are probably seven or eight guys where it's like: 'Ok, these are our main guys going forward for the next six to twelve months' and they need to be the guys getting the biggest reactions, being involved in the biggest storylines and stuff like that.' So if there's a guy who is getting bigger reactions than them, then I think there is an attempt to, I'm sure, make that reaction transfer on to the guys they are going with, the guys they want to push. There are just a limited number of spots, that's the issue. You can't have everyone in those spots."

Another man who Stu Bennett is very familiar with is former NXT Champion, Drew McIntyre. McIntyre has been out nursing an torn pectoral muscle that he suffered at NXT TakeOver: War Games back in November. From one former Intercontinental Champion to another, Bennett had some high praises for the "Sinister Scotsman".

"He's good enough to do whatever he wants," he added."He is a very rare performer where in WWE, he absolutely fits the bill, in Japan he would fit the bill, in PWG, he would fit the bill and in Brian Dixon's All-Star wrestling he would fit the bill. He's somebody that is literally so talented, he can do anything he wants. If he did make the decision to move on from WWE, I have no idea if he will or not - he can do whatever he wants to do."

SPORTBible noted that they have a part two of their interview with Stu Bennett coming to their site soon. Stu Bennett is the current GM of Defiant Wrestling as noted, which we have videos of, posted here on Fightful.
