WALTER Says He's Fond Of Drew McIntyre's Fighting Style, Would Love To Wrestle Him One-On-One

There are dream matches, and then there are dream matches.

NXT UK Champion WALTER is excited to get the ball rolling again with the UK exclusive brand but is also talking about the one person on the WWE main roster he would like to have a singles match with.

After six months away, NXT UK is returning from the BT Sport studio in London, England, and the NXT UK Champion WALTER is proud of his lengthy reign but admits that it definitely comes with an asterisk.

“500 days is a long run with a title, but to be fair, we've had half a year break. We've got to put it into perspective but going forward, these new tapings will give us a chance to step up,” WALTER tells GiveMeSport.

WALTER has never been shy about his feelings toward Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown, and has said in the past that a full-time career in the states isn't something he is interested in. However, WALTER does speak fondly of Drew McIntyre's intensity and would love a one-on-one match with the WWE Champion should the situation ever arise.

“I'm not focused on if I want to go to RAW or SmackDown, I'm not that sort of guy. But I have a lot of respect for Drew. He represents European wrestling as a whole very well in the United States. I really like his style of wrestling, he's a big and tall guy, very intense. I'm hoping for a singles match with him one day."

McIntyre was the man to eliminate WALTER in the 2019 men's Survivor Series elimination match and it appears the NXT UK Champion has not forgotten about that moment.

As of now, NXT UK is set to begin again on September 17. Fightful will have live coverage of all of the ongoing events as they occur.
