Ethan Page was promised a "phenomenal" opponent and he got one.
On tonight's episode of IMPACT Wrestling, Page was set for a match against a mystery opponent. If Page emerged victorious, then he and Josh Alexander would get a future IMPACT World Tag Team title match against Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson.
It had been teased that Page could have faced AJ Styles, as he is good friends with Gallows and Anderson. Obviously, Styles was never going to appear on IMPACT, but Page's opponent did take a lot of pages out of Styles' playbook. Swoggle was Page's opponent, coming out to Styles' TNA theme song, dressed in miniature versions of his gear, did his pose and even was announced as "The Wee-nomenal One AJ Swoggle."
Swoggle would actually go on to defeat Page with a roll-up, dashing Page and Alexander's hopes of challenging for the tag titles and becoming three-time champions.
