Will Ospreay Comments On Seeing Callum Newman’s IWGP Heavyweight Title Win: “One Of The Best Moments Of My Life”
Ospreay expresses how proud he is of Newman.
At the conclusion of NJPW Sakura Genesis 2026, Callum Newman stood tall as the new IWGP Heavyweight Champion. He defeated Yota Tsuji to capture the title and is now the youngest wrestler to ever hold the title at 23 years of age.
Ringside for Newman’s victory was Will Ospreay. Ospreay and Newman have known each other since Newman was a teenager, and it was Ospreay who told Newman’s parents to make sure he sticks with pursuing pro wrestling.
Taking to social media after the victory, Ospreay wrote the following about Newman:

While Newman was delivering his backstage comments, Ospreay asked the new IWGP Heavyweight Champion and United Empire for help dealing with the Death Riders in AEW.
