Will Ospreay: Going To WWE Has Never Intrigued Me

Will Ospreay to going to the Garden.

But prior to last year, many believed the only way to go to the Garden was through WWE. That changed in June 2018 when ROH and NJPW announced a Supershow at Madison Square Garden the night before WrestleMania 35. Despite WWE trying to step in, G1 Supercard was made official and tickets sold out within minutes of going on sale in August.

On a recent episode of Road to MSG, NEVER Openweight Champion Will Ospreay sat down with Kevin Kelly and discussed his upcoming venture to MSG and how he never thought it was possible.

"It's always been the home of another company," said Ospreay. "To be able to perform there, you have to be a great singer/songwriter, an artist....I can't sing. The other option would be going to that other company, which has never intrigued me. I never really found that aspiration to want to go there."

Ospreay does not have an opponent for G1 Supercard as of yet. He is still alive in the New Japan Cup and should he win the tournament, he will challenge Jay White for the IWGP Heavyweight Title at Madison Square Garden. Jeff Cobb challenged Ospreay to a bout that would pit the ROH TV Champion against the NEVER Openweight Challenge but the tweet sent out by ROH where Cobb issued the challenge was deleted
