Will Ospreay: If Built Up, Me vs. Ilja Dragunov Could Be A Big Money-Drawing Singles Match

Will Ospreay comments on the possibility of facing Ilja Dragunov in AEW.

Ilja Dragunov is not officially All Elite, but he is reportedly headed to the company after opting to leave WWE.

AEW World Champion Will Ospreay is excited at the possibility of Dragunov joining “where the best wrestle,” and potentially stepping in the ring with him.

“Dragunov was someone that performed on wXw for a fair bit of time, and there have been shows that we’ve been on, we’ve been on the same shows together, but we have never shared a ring with one another,” told Jon Alba of SI’s The Takedown. “Hearing that there’s potential that he is coming in is exciting because I’m sure if you bring him in and you keep us on separate sides of the roster and build us both up, it could generally be like a big money-drawing singles match that could main event any show anywhere in the world.”

Ospreay praised Dragunov’s intensity, saying he stands out in a unique way and that no one matches the energy he brings.

Ospreay will defend the AEW World Title against Jon Moxley at AEW All Out on Saturday.
