Will Ospreay says Mark Davis could be an amazing world champion in AEW.
Earlier in June, Will Ospreay defeated Mark Davis to advance in the Owen Hart Cup. Davis is part of The Don Callis Family on AEW television.
Speaking with Baby Huey on 107.7 The Bone, Ospreay was asked about his in-ring dance partners. During the conversation, Ospreay mentioned Mark Davis as someone he’s had great matches with.
Ospreay thinks that AEW hasn’t done well by its heavyweight class historically, but Davis could break that mold.
“I find myself having like really good matches with heavyweight guys. I don’t know if you saw the one against Mark Davis. Once again, another guy that I have a great relationship with. He’s one of these guys who’s always been phenomenal. Even as a tag team in Aussie Open, he’s always been phenomenal. Now he’s a singles guy and actually found what makes him unique. I think AEW historically hasn’t done well by its heavyweight class. I think, honestly, Mark Davis could be the guy that breaks that mold. He could be an amazing world champion if given the tools and the necessary story to get there.”
