Will Ospreay Says He Would Be A Paul Heyman Guy Under The Right Context, 'I Love Him. He's The Man'

Will Ospreay discusses his respect for Paul Heyman.

In 2016, Paul Heyman offered Will Ospreay an EVOLVE contract during Heyman's tour of the United Kingdom. Ospreay chose to stay wrestling in New Japan, and almost a decade later, Ospreay and Heyman are at the top of the industry, with Ospreay as one of the faces of AEW and Heyman's continued prominence as a manager at the highest level in WWE.

Logan Paul: "In The WWE, Logan Paul Hate Is Forced"

During a recent interview with Josh Martinez of Z100 on Superstar Crossover, Ospreay was asked if he would become "a Paul Heyman Guy" in a hypothetical world where it was possible, and they were both in the same company. Ospreay said he would and spoke about his great respect for Heyman's ability to adapt to changing times. He also reminisced about that moment in 2016.

"Listen, yeah, sure. Paul gave me that incredible moment once upon a time, where he offered me an EVOLVE deal years ago. I didn't take it. The money was shit, to be honest with you," he said with a laugh, before admitting that comment was in jest. "It was lovely, but I love Paul Heyman. I grew up watching him, man. I've always admired his ability to evolve his character and to get into certain roles. He's the man."

Elsewhere in the interview, Will Ospreay said that, even though he has a great deal of respect for names like Gunther, Chad Gable, and Randy Orton, he's confident that AEW is a much better wrestling company than WWE. Read his comments here.

Next, Ospreay hopes to capture the AEW World Title at AEW All In: Texas. First, he must defeat Hangman Page at AEW Double or Nothing and win the Owen Hart Foundation Memorial Cup Tournament.
