Will Ospreay: TNA Was My Thing Growing Up But When Hulk Hogan And Others Joined, It Changed Everything That I Loved About It

Will Ospreay says guys like Hulk Hogan coming into TNA changed everything he loved about the company.
He’s one of the many top names in wrestling today who have never worked for WWE. Ospreay was a TNA fan growing up, with one of his goals being to become the TNA X-Division Champion.
Speaking with Baby Huey on 107.7 The Bone, Ospreay was asked if, in the future, main eventing AEW All In will become a goal for a lot of wrestlers, as it has been with WrestleMania. Ospreay said yes.
During the conversation, Ospreay opened up about his love for TNA growing up and how the arrival of Hulk Hogan changed everything he once loved about the promotion.
“I was never a WWE guy. I liked it when I was a kid, but TNA was my thing, right? All I wanted to be growing up, I wanted to be the TNA X Division Champion. That’s all I could like. AJ Styles was wearing that belt. I wanted to do the old X match. There’s obviously that part of me like, ‘Oh, I wish I got that.’ But I’m not kicking myself over it. Do you know what I mean? It is what it is. I don’t think the current TNA is an avid representation of what it was when I was watching.
But watching guys like AJ, Daniels, Amazing Red, James Storm, Bobby Roode, Samoa Joe completely change the culture of wrestling and completely change what it looked like to be a pro wrestler. I think [it] gave me hope. TNA, when it was on Spike, it was cool. But, I felt like the moment Hogan and all that guys came in, I think honestly, it changed everything that I loved about it.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Ospreay talks about asking Tony Khan to do a wrestling show at The Colosseum. Read more about it here.
