William Regal is a proud mentor of Claudio Castagnoli. For a brief time, he was Castagnoli's manager in AEW along with the rest of the Blackpool Combat Club.
Claudio revealed on Instagram that the BCC group chat was discussing the anniversary of Regal's final bout which was taped on November 21, 2023 (aired on Christmas Day) against Claudio Castagnoli (Cesaro) in WWE NXT.
It’s been brought up (BCC group chat) that it’s been 10 years since this, William Regal’s final match, happened. It’s one of my favorite matches / moments of my career against someone who advanced my career so much and still keeps me on my toes. Thank you, your Lordship.

Regal took to his Twitter to reflect on the bout, praising Claudio as a final opponent.
He also thanked everyone who made his wrestling career possible.

Tony Khan stated in December 2022 that William Regal would be leaving AEW and returning to WWE. At the time, Khan reported that Regal had asked AEW not to pick up his contract option at the end of the year.
