William Regal, Shawn Michaels & Triple H Reflect On NXT's Journey From 'Arrival' To 'TakeOver XXX'

The journey from NXT Arrival to NXT TakeOver XXX is not just a story of 31 wrestling cards. In six and a half years, NXT redefined what working for WWE meant and changed the entire WWE in-ring style completely.

In a new video released on the YouTube channel for WWE’s Performance Center, several names from NXT’s past and present recall their personal journey with the brand and how proud they are of its progress.

“I used to say then, a lot, when people would talk about those events in the beginning, the TakeOvers, that if we were doing this still in five years, if we were still having these moments and still doing what we were doing five years from now, then we could talk about it being a success,” said NXT founding father, Triple H.

Triple H's best friend, Shawn Michaels, recalled his journey going from a fan of the brand to one of the key components and producers.

“I went from somebody that was a fan. I started at the beginning when Hunter started all of this and watching it just from the outside. The idea was to be everything that was awesome and fun about this line of work. You know, it was more about all the people that were part of NXT where all the people that were passionate and hungry and young and, you know, and looking towards the future and building that future.”

NXT General Manager William Regal became emotional when talking about his feelings regarding the growth of the black and gold brand of WWE. William Regal is the third General Manager of NXT and the longest-tenured GM of the brand.

“Every drop of being that I am, I would give to NXT," said Regal. "So would Triple H, and so would everybody that comes to work here. We would give everything to make sure that this works and that's how much this means to us."

This coming Tuesday, on NXT Super Tuesday, a new era will once again emerge in NXT. In the first-ever 60-Minute Fatal 4-Way Iron Man Match, Adam Cole, Johnny Gargano, Finn Balor, and Tommaso Ciampa will compete to crown a brand new NXT Champion.
