Willow Nightingale explains why she was given the childhood nickname of ‘Godzilla’ while she was in the second grade.
Willow is a bubbly character, that always looks on the positive side of things, with her mantra of ‘nothing matters, smile anyways,’ connecting with wrestling fans around the world with their own struggles. Willow has now revealed the reason behind a cheeky childhood nickname she had.
While speaking to the Daily Star in an interview recorded prior to AEW All In this past weekend, Willow Nightingale was asked to name something fans would not know about her.
“So I always say this, and at this point I’m like, oh, everybody knows this, but every time I say it, somebody’s shocked. I sew my own gear. But maybe another thing is I… I used to win all my belching competitions as a child and was given the nickname Godzilla in second grade, and it is not a thing I’m necessarily proud of, but it is not something you would know.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Willow spoke about ‘faking it till she made it’ in the early days of her pro wrestling character. You can read more about that here.
